NOTD: Nails Inc Sprinkles Collection Pudding Lane

As soon as nails inc released the Sprinkles collection, I knew I had to get my hands on a couple. I love love LOVE glitter polish, and I love Cupcakes, so naturally, I knew I'd love these. Unfortunately since leaving my job, I haven't been able to spend as much on beauty products as I'd like to. But as it was my birthday a few weeks ago, I decided to treat myself. These babies usually have a hefty price tag of £11.00 each, but the lovely Holly tweeted that BeautyBay were selling them for £8.80, and I just couldn't resist. I won't lie it actually took me two days to choose which ones to buy, but it was a hard decision (I am the worst decision maker in the world). In the end, I went for Pudding Lane and Topping Lane, which I will be posting about very soon, but for now lets start with this beauty.

Pudding Lane is a aqua blue jelly-based polish, with darker blue, and gold glitter, and oh my it's gorgeous. Quite honestly, they aren't the type of colours I'd usually associated with cupcakes, but that wasn't going to put me off this one. I'm always drawn to blue polishes, so it was always going to end up in my nail polish collection somehow! Application of this polish is a lot easier than I expected it to be. I usually spend a while prodding glitter around my nails, but I didn't need to do that with this. I wouldn't say the glitter spreads out evenly on the first coat, but by the second coat it's all covered and looking rather lovely.
The above image shows two coats of Pudding Lane, and that's (in my opinion) all you need to get a great coverage! I'm thrilled with this nail polish, it's as lovely as I expected and wanted it to be. As for how long it lasted, with a top coat (I used Models Own 3 in 1 Base, Top and Gloss) I wore this with minimal tipwear for around four days. Not bad at all! As it's jelly based, it wasn't as awkward to remove as typical glitter polishes, but it was still pretty hard work, completely worth it though.

Are you tempted by or have already tried any of the Sprinkles collection? I'd love to hear your thoughts! A review of Topping Lane will be up very soon. It's just as gorgeous, and definitely more 'cupcakey'.

  4. I want EVERY SINGLE ONE of these. Nails Inc are my favourite nail brand I think. Probably because my two favourite colours ever are from them; Victoria and Basil St. I love those two because although they're really conservative colours (which is weird for me), they're so wearable and gorgeous. The only two polishes I've ever ran out of. EVER.
Anyway, I really really want to just splurge and buy all of this collection but I can't do it right now because of $$$, and also I quite often layer glitters with jellies to get this effect. I'd recommend trying it, it's quite fun (sign of a blogger!), and you can do loads of combinations.. I may well post about it shortly actually, but for now it shall stay in your comments!

Anyway enough of my ramblings, thanks for the follow my love, much appreciated! You were my tenth ;) xx

    1. So do I! I have to admit though, the beigey one isn't exactly up my street but I still wouldn't say no to it! My favourite brand is Model Own, I love them! Have you ever tried any of their polishes? I'm still yet to run out of a nail polish, I have a feeling it will be Essie Mint Candy Apple.

Ha! That sounds pretty cool actually, I look forward to that post. No problem lovely, I'm happy to be your tenth ;) x

    2. It was the polish that got me into nudes, I now have a ridiculous amount of them but still go back to Basil Street. I thought I'd lost it recently and threw a full on strop whilst searching; absolutely ransacked my room. It was in one of my handbags :(
Yeah I've got 4, I posted about them here- http://xhannahsaidso.blogspot.co.uk/2012/05/models-own-nail-polish-swatches.html
I only wore the two duochromes to swatch, Champagne is GORGEOUS but I've still only worn it once and I do really love Disco Heaven. I own too many polishes basically. I have so many favourites and so many that make me go "meh" but purely because I've only used them once or twice.
I've stiiill not tried any Essie! I really want to though!

I shall put it on my list! xx

    3. The only polish I have near enough to a 'nude' is Utopia by Models Own, I'd love to try some more though, they make me feel slightly sophisticated ;) Ha! Oh god, that always happens to me. Especially as my mum keeps stealing my nail varnishes. They end up all over the house!

Champagne looks like such a lovely colour! Haha I do to, I have so many that I just constantly wear and others that I only use for little bits in nail art.

You really should, the brushes are amazing. xx
